Website research .

Started to look at website designs for my artist and used WIX website because it was the most easy to use and it gave the largest variation of websites for me to choose from when looking at music website design.

The first one which I looked at was very simple, you were able to have the name at the top, the background being transparent but having the option to change it and many different fonts to suit the genre and when I first loaded it up I liked the look of the webpage but maybe it was too bare and needed a lot of work because but might suit my one song .

 

 
This website looked a lot more professional with the photos changing and the small task bar and not much else surrounding the page and I don't think I liked this one that much because I don't think that it connected with my genre and wouldn't look right .

This was another website that i was going to use because of the first page it has the video making you become more attracted to the website and if you enjoyed it there would be more chance of them going more into the website and viewing other content but i would have to change the colours because they don't connote with the genre or anything to do with hip hop .



Looking at this website I think this page isn't designed very well and the colours are not the most attractive and don't think that it would work for my music video because I have already had a go with the settings and don't think it would suit the genre when comparing to other hip hop websites like jay z and lil .



Following on from Digital pack looking at the two hip hop artists websites compared to the one that I have chosen and I have chosen number 1 and 3 , The two artist that I looked at were jay z and lil w and because their website wont load and are changing ''Under construction''  I am going have a look at someone else's website for example ''drake 'and compare them to the layouts above and what I would need to change to have the same conventions as them official hip hop websites .

From first looks at the website I notice that it has his new album cover as the background , very simple with a small description and kind of a quote from someone comparing him to someone in Hollywood called Marvin Gaye . Has two task bars with the same links on just giving you two options for the audience depending on which type of platform their on and what is easiest for them and when comparing my two website to this I feel that website one is more similar because it has more simplicity and less going on just straight forward with less detail just shows the artist itself and not trying to sell or attract the audience ,  for instance with drake I think that he must not care about the commercialized side to his music and thinks that he's already sold himself and doesn't need to try and attract more people, secondly this screenshot of drake is nothing like number 3 ,which is more full of different pages links and videos embedded into the webpage I think that there is to much going on and is trying to fit too much in to attract and entertain the audience.

 

When looking at this website I noticed that It was much more full, has many different images and advertisement's all over the webpage just like website ''3'' and when comparing this to drakes and the things about saying he doesn't need to advertise because he knows he will be able to sell its the total opposite with Kendrick Lamar and he needs to get his name out there to the world and could say he is a niche market not having a wide audience which is why he has to do it to make more money and become bigger and he also makes tracks that cause arguments within the industry to create media attraction and its a cleaver strategy but most other artist have done this in the past , when looking at this for creating my website I don't think that I will be making a website like number 3 layout and more like number 1 and drakes website simple but effective for the same reason to distribute good quality music .

Overall after looking at these definitely two different websites I would say that in the making of my website for my artist I would like to do website one like drakes because it is much more simple and specific less hassle just simple advertising of the artist and the track.
