Narrative

During the video it changes the scene each few seconds but carrying on the song throughout each part making it casual between each swap like a breath or changing verse and i think that this worked very well making a good effect but when listening to the song i thought that it only had little relevance to the video, for instance, how he used to be like us but because he has worked hard life's gone easier and things are much more relaxed and not as complicated like a child but can also be very complicated which why i think he links the lyrics into 'Weed' and speaks about smoking it to become more relaxed to feel young again .

When applying andrew goodwins theory to this video the lyrics i feel that the link doesn't give the video only small amount of reinforcment the meaning of the song so it does not agree with the theory but it does give some intertexuality with the clothing and other things and therefore this doesnt connect to steve archers theory where the lyrics give u a visual image of the artist or video and this is called synaesthesia.
Not many shots have been used to make this video it seems like it was shot handheld but its too professional for that so obviously it they wanted to get type of feeling and mainly through this video they used mid levels shots , slow motion editing , and some close ups seems to me like they had a small budget and not much thought has been applied .

Switches From one location to the other very qucikly sometimes , the lyrics match the content which means that it is involved with andrew goodwins theory where they are links between the lyrics and visual and obviosly the oposite way round, many different intertexuality with the clothing, steroetyping showing black people being picked on by police therefore making the video relate to real life, voyeurism is shows because from just looking at the artist you know who he is even without a name and i feel that the video is both performanced based and lyricly based. 

 

Steve archer’s theory consists on many different things and during this video i thought that there was something called ‘synaesthesia’ when you see a beat inside your head , this video was mostly ’Narritive and performance’therefore portraying the ’The stars image’ and these are the  ‘’Three ways in which music videos relate visuals to the song’’ and make steve archers theory for this song .

Loads of different shots used throughout the video showing in-depth knowledge and more time in effort that has been applied to the video such as hand held, close ups , mid shots, montage shots , repeated but mixed up to create their desired effect .

It started in the street and worked his way up throughout the video and the lyrics matched the image on screen showing how he made it to the top , i think that it represents the artist drake and how he became a large entertainer in the music industary .

Andrew goodwins theory deosn't apply to this video because i feel that the lyrics doesnt give you a a visual image or connct to the lyrics and not reinforcing the video with the lyrics but it does give you the obvious meaning to the song because it replay lyrics over and over.

Many different shots in the video such as the close ups , mid shot , tracking shots , panning shots , zoom and but plays with the narrative mostly and is like a celebration video for the creation and success of his self .

The shots are quite simple using close ups , long shots , wide angle shots but this video changes filtes more then other videos but many different locations but this would of been easy because there only shot confind shot showing a small number of things.
