De la soul - Me, Myself And I
- Based in the school classroom , the three artists , most of the shots we're close ups , mid shots, wide angle shots and one establishing shot, this video is a very simple and easy to make video based in one room with many different types of clothing and people most of it was late 80s hip hop some would say stereotypical because of the chains, big clock and jewellery , the clothing and body language reflexed the artist and the mood of the room to the song .
Ty - Like You Never
When looking at this video you could tell that the video reflects to the lyrics and that it is more professionally done with a higher standard because of the various different shots , close ups , establishing shots , panning , high angle shots , low angle and lots of editing changing the shape of the screen changing it into split screen and dividing it into 4 sections, at the chorus its goes into wide angle shots away from the artist which I like , the light changes further into the video with it getting darker throughout and some of the lyrics pop onto the screen to reinforce the meaning .
DJ Shadow - Building Steam with a Grain of Salt
Watching this video and thinking is there going to be and speaking in the video but there was anything but watching the image really told the story , going through his life on like a faded projector type of effect creating this message for all of his fans and its basically just him showing the way he moves and expresses himself but I like the ways he's layered two videos to make it look old and something out of history , that which he might want to be .
Roots Manuva - Dreamy Days
When looking at this video I notice that its just a empty lighted room , the song links with the video and lyrics , not many different shots close ups , establishing shot , wide angle , high angle , it has male gaze with the sexual body references and body parts of the woman and it just carries on performing the same different shots making lyrical references to different things which show up in the video .
Jurassic 5 - Quality Control
Watching this video I noticed straight way that It had a high amount of editing throughout the video , with animation and many different shots low ,close , high angle shots , rewind editing, slow motion , all sorts of different things ,very creative and the colours that we're chosen fitted in with the video but the lyrics didn't fit with the video but it made up for it in the entertainment factor.
The Pharcyde - Drop
When watching this video I notice that the lyrics don't match the video , the video a one straight take and it doesn't cut , keeping the camera at a low angle , wide angle shots , rewind editing so they do the shots and the make them go backwards to create a strange effect , all dressed in scruffy , old coats but it would be for that time and fits in, not many different location one on the street , down an ally and another next to a shop , but was a very creative .
Nightmares On Wax_Flip Ya Lid
When first looking at this video straight from the start I notice that its split screening the image to the two side and using the beat of the song to move the image and its a direct correlation and the drawing show large buildings and the lyrics could connect to the song but it don't see a connection , feels like an animation with the continuous changing of images but has a really old effect which works well with the video and the reggae vibe .
Rae & Christian feat. Veba - Spellbound - official music video
When looking at this video I noticed that the beat had a connection with the beats and the speed of the shots . But the location has nothing to do with the song or the way it was performed except for some sci-fi moments when object faded into place and some special effect were added , overall I think the song could of been done better if it was done in better locations and in colour .
"Worst Comes To Worst" Dilated Peoples
When looking at this video I noticed that the lyrics match the imagery and what is happening in the video , good amount of editing shots where some object relating the artist of song is thrown over the camera and then it changed to another singer during the video , keep the camera low in some parts of the video to make him look more powerful and better then he actually is , slow motion when girls appear in the video , close ups when on his own , mid shots and wide angle shots for when he's in a group to show who he attracts and the power through his music but overall a good video , never got boring always changing shots, angles and location.
Talib Kweli - Get By
When watching this video I noticed that it does various different shots , like an establishing shot showing the location but switches angle any different time , low angle shots , close up , the angle and the speed of the shots are controlled by the lyrics and the song and this is good because it doesn't get boring either confusing for the views , the lyrics also connect with the visual image which is portrayed on the screen making you think more in-depth about the video and it does this through the whole of the video making it more entertaining.
