Research into my music video.

The 1980s marked the diversification of hip hop as the genre developed more complex styles, Early examples of the diversification process can be identified through such tracks as Grandmaster Flash's "The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel" (1981), a single consisting entirely of sampled tracks.

Electro music was fused with elements of the hip hop movement, largely led by artists such as Cybotron, Hashim, Planet Patrol, Warp 9 and Newcleus.

New school hip hop

The new school of hip hop was the second wave of hip hop music, originating in 1983–84 with the early records of Run-D.M.C. and LL Cool J.

As with the hip hop preceding it (which subsequently became known as old school hip hop), the new school came predominately from New York City. The new school was initially characterized in form by drum machine-led minimalism, with influences from rock music.

Hip hop music became commercially successful, as exemplified by the Beastie Boys' 1986 album Licensed to Ill, which was the first rap album to hit #1 on the Billboard charts.

Golden age hip hop

Hip hop's "golden age" is a name given to a period in mainstream hip hop—usually cited as between the mid-1980s and the early 1990s—said to be characterized by its diversity, quality, innovation and influence.

This was the time of trying new things with different genres and some of the albums had a strong jazz influence.

Gangsta rap and West Coast hip hop

Gangsta rap is a subgenre of hip hop that reflects the violent lifestyles of inner-city American black youths and The genre was pioneered in the mid-1980s by rappers such as  Ice-T, and was popularized in the later part of the 1980s by groups like N.W.A Ice-T released ''6 in the morning''

Example.(5)

N.W.A is the group most frequently associated with the founding of gangsta rap. Their lyrics were more violent, openly confrontational, and shocking than those of established rap acts, featuring incessant profanity and, controversially, use of the word "nigger". These lyrics were placed over rough, rock guitar-driven beats, contributing to the music's hard-edged feel.

Mainstream breakthrough

In 1990, Public Enemy's Fear of a Black Planet was a significant success with music critics and consumers. It was highly contributory to hip hop's mainstream emergence in 1990, dubbed by Billboard editor Paul Grein as "the year that rap exploded"and from then after Enemy's 1989 single "Fight the Power", rapper Tone Lōc's single Wild Thing being the best-selling single of 1989 and then hip hop started to become a common thing with new artist trying to get into the market every day.

Comparing to my video

Aim - Ain't Got Time To Waste

Looking at the the different ages of music and trying to find where about my music would of fitted into was quite difficult but i think that my song fit between 1980 and 1990 because after 1990 and more people start to do it the type of rap changes and becomes more quicker and agressive rather then my song which is more laid back and slow and could also be catagorised into the Golden age.
